Rebuild Upstate adds three new board members

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Rebuild Upstate has elected three new members to join its board for 2023.


The newest additions to the board are Rob Schmidt, Lora Jex and Doug Greenwell.


Rob Schmidt is a shareholder and director with NAI Earle Furman, where he has worked since 2011. Schmidt specializes in the acquisition, underwriting, marketing, disposition and 1031 Exchanges of single-tenant and multi-tenant commercial investment properties throughout the Southeast.


Lora Jex currently works as Chief Compliance Officer, EVP for Southern First Bank. Jex is involved with Communities in Schools and serves on the advisory committee in the Greenville market. She has participated in Hands on Greenville, Trees Upstate, and other volunteer initiatives throughout the community.


Doug Greenwell is a mechanical engineer by training, and worked for Michelin for 40 years in various engineering management roles. Greenwell retired two years ago and has eagerly dedicated his new free time to organizations that give back to the community. In 2021, Doug Greenwell received the Rebuild Upstate All-In Award in recognition for his outstanding volunteer service.


Rebuild Upstate helps low-income homeowners with home repairs and accessibility improvements to create safe, livable housing in existing homes and neighborhoods. Home repairs can range from small plumbing fixes to roof and floor replacements. Accessibility improvements range from installing grab bars and railings for vulnerable populations to building wheelchair ramps for those with disabilities.
