WorkSmart celebrates 35 years

GREENVILLE, S.C. – WorkSmart celebrated its 35th anniversary recently with a series of announcements. 

Founded in 1989, WorkSmart has expanded from a single location to a regional network of branches that serve thousands of job seekers and employers each year. Its continued growth is rooted in a commitment to community, collaboration and providing dependable workforce solutions.  

CEO Vanessa Barnes, who reached eight years with the company, continues to guide WorkSmart through strategic expansion and innovation. Also celebrating a major milestone is business development manager, Dee Hughes, whose 14 years of service have strengthened client partnerships and contributed to WorkSmart’s reputation for reliability and care.

The company also recognized rising talent, including Noely Cabrera, who recently celebrated one year as a bilingual front office onboarding coordinator, where she enhances the onboarding experience for candidates across diverse communities. WorkSmart also recognized recruiter Tori Fleming, celebrating her first year with the company and a recent promotion that highlights her swift growth.

Recruiter Kristen Muirhead, now in her fourth year, continues to bring consistency and expertise to her branch, while data support specialist Mason Weaver, celebrating three years, plays an integral role in strengthening WorkSmart’s data processes and operational efficiency. Recruiter Susan Davis, marking her second year, has become known for her people-centered approach and commitment to matching candidates with meaningful opportunities. In addition to these anniversaries, WorkSmart welcomed two new team members whose leadership and drive will support the company’s continued expansion. Kimberlee Cothran has joined as selling branch manager at the Greenwood branch, bringing strong leadership experience and a passion for building high-performing teams. Kashara Reed, the newest staffing coordinator in the Lavonia branch, joins with enthusiasm for serving candidates and supporting branch operations.
