Upstate Warrior Solution (UWS) has added three members to its Board of Directors: Jennings Lyon, Founding Partner and CEO of LyonJay; Jen Buckner, Senior Vice President of Technology Risk at Mastercard; Alan Campbell, Chief Financial Officer of HMR Veteran Services.

Founded in 2013, UWS is a locally based nonprofit providing care coordination for Upstate veterans, first responders, and their families.

“Now in our second decade of service, we’re ambitiously laying plans for the next ten years and beyond,” says UWS President, Charlie Hall. “The expertise and leadership Jennings, Jen, and Alan bring to our Board of Directors will help us sustain momentum as we aim to end warrior suicide through holistic community support.”

Jennings Lyon – LyonJay | Founding Partner and CEO

As Founding Partner and CEO of LyonJay, Jennings Lyon is responsible for establishing corporate policy, developing and implementing the company’s strategic direction, and creating profitable, synergistic corporate relationships. Under Jennings’ leadership, LyonJay has built a $1 billion RE investment and development platform that spans the Southeastern US.

Jennings also serves as the President and Founding Partner of both Hudson Oak Development (a rental housing firm) and LML Construction (a multi-family/multi-use general contractor and developer) where he spearheaded the firm’s expansion across 9 states, driving annual gross contract volume to over $130M and successfully co-developed and constructed apartment and condominium complexes across the Southeast.

Jennings has strategically positioned LyonJay to take advantage of current real estate market trends as sunbelt states continue to experience rapid population growth. A former collegiate wrestler and avid golfer, father of two, and husband, Jennings still finds time to be active in his community, including serving as a board member for the City Club of Greenville and now Upstate Warrior Solution.

Jennifer Buckner – Mastercard | Senior Vice President, Technology Risk

“Jen” Buckner is Head of Technology Risk at Mastercard, where she leads the Second Line function overseeing security and resilience risk management, regulatory alignment, and strategic risk partnerships.

A retired U.S. Army Brigadier General, Jen served in key intelligence and leadership roles over her 30-year military career, culminating as the Army’s Director of Cyber. In that role, she advanced cyber capabilities and championed emerging technologies to counter evolving threats.

Jen is deeply committed to corporate governance, veteran advocacy, and thought leadership. She serves on the boards of Everfox, the Cyber Risk Institute, and National University, and with the Association of the US Army as a Leadership Fellow.

An Army Sports Hall of Fame inductee, master parachutist, and former All-American swimmer, Jen holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering Management from West Point and an MBA from Central Michigan University. She was the Army’s first Cyber Fellow at the NSA and has completed executive programs at Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Alan Campbell – HMR Veteran Services, Inc. | Chief Financial Officer

Alan Campbell is a seasoned healthcare veteran with almost three decades of executive leadership. Alan joined the HMR Veteran Services team in August of 2023.  Alan D. Campbell serves as Chief Financial Officer for HMR Veterans Services, Inc., overseeing all financial operations, strategic planning, and fiscal management for the organization’s multi-state network of State Veterans Homes. Recruited in 2023 to strengthen the company’s finance and accounting infrastructure, he has led initiatives to improve financial visibility, streamline processes, and position HMR for continued growth. His leadership ensures the alignment of financial strategy with operational priorities, enabling HMR to sustain high-quality services for Veterans and their families.

Before joining HMR, Mr. Campbell served as Chief Financial Officer for Eventus WholeHealth, where he built the financial infrastructure to support rapid expansion, completed multiple acquisitions, and implemented advanced reporting for management, investors, and board members. He has held senior leadership roles including CFO and COO of the Laser Spine Institute, President and COO of Pain Specialist of America, and Executive Vice President of Finance, Legal, and Chief Compliance Officer for Physicians Choice Laboratory Services. His career also includes extensive experience in hospital and physician practice operations, rural health system turnarounds, and the creation and growth of specialized healthcare service companies.

Throughout his career, Alan has helped navigate his companies through many complex business issues, including the changes in reimbursement in 1997 which led to the loss of over 40% of the providers in home healthcare the following year. It was during this difficult time that Alan helped his company to not only survive the drastic changes, but to become opportunistic and grow a successful home healthcare platform operating in 8 states, leading to a successful exit at 11.5 times EBITDA in 2005.

In addition to his executive roles with his own companies, Alan has served on several industry boards and committees and as a speaker at multiple industry conferences. He received his BS in Accounting from Georgia Southern University- College of Business Administration.
