The Greenville Scottish Games names Honorary Chief of the Games 2023

The Honorable Alexander Leslie, Chief of Clan Leslie, has been named Honorary Chief of the 2023 Greenville Scottish Games.


Leslie is a member of the Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs and lives in Dumfriesshire in Southwest Scotland.

“We are thrilled to have the Chief of Clan Leslie coming to help us celebrate our Scottish Heritage here at our Games,” said Bev Griffin, President of the Greenville Scottish Games.


The Greenville Scottish Games and the Gallabrae experience will be held in Greenville on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27 with events for the entire family that will draw people from the Upstate of South Carolina, the North Carolina foothills and the North Georgia lakes and mountains. It is the region’s largest Scottish heritage experience.


Scottish Clans can register to attend the 2023 Games; people wishing to purchase tickets to this year’s games; and people wanting to volunteer or compete in the athletic and piping/drumming events can go to gallabrae.com.


The Greenville Scottish Games began in 2006, and from its inception has consistently taken an innovative, fresh approach to celebrating Scottish heritage. Greenville is nestled in arguably the highest concentration of people Scots-Irish descent in the country.


The Games will kick-off with the Great Scot! Parade on Main Street in downtown Greenville. The main event will be held on the Furman University campus the following day.
