The newly renovated Daniel officially reopened its doors with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city and county leaders, including Greenville Mayor Knox White. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for one of downtown Greenville’s most iconic landmarks.
Originally conceived by construction magnate Charles E. Daniel, whose passion for construction helped shape much of Greenville’s landscape, The Landmark Building first opened in 1967. For decades, it has stood as both a centerpiece of the city’s skyline and a symbol of Greenville’s growth and ambition. Its new name, The Daniel, honors Charlie Daniel and the lasting impact of his contributions to the community.
The renovation project was guided by a vision to elevate the building’s presence while preserving its history. Many of the original architectural features have been carefully restored, maintaining Charlie Daniel’s design while incorporating modern upgrades. Inside, the transformation delivers a state-of-the-art space designed to attract new tenants, while exterior enhancements preserve the architectural character that has defined the building for nearly 60 years. These improvements not only strengthen Greenville’s vibrant downtown but also ensure that The Daniel remains a hub for business and opportunity for generations to come.
“From the start of this project, we knew that we wanted to preserve the legacy of Charlie Daniel,” said Gaston Albergotti, CEO of Dunean Capital Management and a managing member of The Daniel ownership group. “His contributions to this city are lasting, and it’s an honor to carry that legacy forward. These renovations not only celebrate his vision but also elevate this landmark into a modern, vibrant space that will continue serving Greenville for decades to come.”
With its refreshed design and modern amenities, The Daniel is poised to welcome businesses and community members into its next era, bridging Greenville’s history with its bright future.
