Volunteers from McBee Avenue Wealth Advisors, a Northwestern Mutual Private Client Group located in Greenville, SC, recently came together to build a new deck and ramp for a local, homeowner living with a disability.
Rebuild Upstate, a local nonprofit that serves low-income homeowners in the Upstate, relies on generous volunteers like McBee Avenue Wealth Advisors to assist us in our mission. Volunteers spent the day demolishing the original stairs and deck before building a new, safer deck and ramp, ensuring this homeowner can now enter and exit their home safely.
CEO Jake Beaty says, “We are so grateful for the support of McBee Avenue Wealth Advisors in helping us serve this homeowner. When local businesses donate their time and money to help us complete a project, it creates a tangible, lasting impact.”
Nearly half of the ramps installed last year by our program were sponsored by local businesses or community groups, and many of those sponsors brought both funds and volunteers to complete critical repair projects. Most build day sponsors are small, locally-owned businesses choosing to invest their hard-earned money back into the community where they live and work.
“Our team’s mission is to Love, Guide, and Serve, and that mission extends beyond our clients and teammates,” said COO of McBee Avenue Wealth Advisors Rachel Haan. “We loved getting to work together as a firm and in partnership with Rebuild Upstate to make a difference for a homeowner in our Greenville community.”
Each year, thousands of volunteers help us live out our mission. Our generous volunteers perform critical repairs for our neighbors while having fun and sharing hope with each homeowner along the way. We couldn’t do what we do without volunteers, so we make it as easy as possible for you or your group to start volunteering. Interested in getting your business involved?
