Greenville Technical College has announced the appointment of Joshua Friesen, Ed.D., as Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services.
Friesen has served as the college’s Director of Marketing and Communications since 2011, and most recently in an expanded role as Interim Dean of Enrollment Services, where he helped lead the college to substantial enrollment growth in Fall 2024.
In his new role, Friesen will oversee Marketing and Communications, the Customer Care Team and Testing, Admissions and Enrollment Services, Student Records, and Community Outreach. He will report to Dr. Kerwin Graham, Vice President for Student Services.
The move of Marketing and Communications into Student Services is designed to provide a more integrated and seamless experience for students and staff.
Prior to joining Greenville Technical College, Friesen built a diverse career in communications and brand strategy. He served as Manager of Communications for Diageo North America, where he was responsible for corporate communications, a corporate advertising budget, and temporarily served as global press officer in London, handling international media relations.
Earlier, as an independent consultant, he supported organizations including History Education, a part of The History Channel, where he developed national education initiatives. He also served six years on the board of CommunityWorks, a Greenville-based Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and currently sits on the Community Impact Committee of the United Way of Greenville County.
“This new structure will allow us to better serve students from their first point of contact through graduation,” said Dr. Graham. “Joshua’s leadership and experience will be instrumental as we build a more cohesive and connected student experience.”
