Greenville business gets SCRA funding

South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) announces its affiliate, SC Launch, Inc.’s, investment of $200,000 in GoBeep, Inc., a Greenville-based software company.

GoBeep became an SC Launch Member Company in 2019 and successfully progressed through the program, receiving a $50,000 Acceleration Grant, and eventually becoming an SC Launch, Inc. Portfolio Company by receiving this investment.

The GoBeep platform has successfully helped breweries create a sense of community in a mobile environment. The software can send personalized promotions, process memberships, promote events, and send educational information that ultimately drive sales and customer loyalty by deepening the emotional connection with brands.

“Now more than ever, restaurants, craft breweries, and wineries need to connect to their customers where they are,” said Lee MacIlwinen, SCRA Investment Manager. “GoBeep’s software allows them to easily achieve this, which is priceless when figuring out promotional programs for customers.”

“We came to SCRA with a vision for leading consumer interaction with businesses that value growth and social responsibility. They understood what we were building and provided the mentoring and funding we needed to grow,” said Paul Della Maggoria, GoBeep CEO and Founder. “We make it easy and cost-effective for businesses to market promotions, memberships, and events directly to each consumer based on their preferences.”

During the pandemic, breweries had to quickly implement e-commerce solutions when mandates required them to reduce capacity or temporarily close. GoBeep’s platform helped breweries gain a single view of their customers, regardless of whether they buy online or in-person, and market to the specific needs of those customers.

“The craft brewery industry is an exciting one. Like any consumer business, it has the challenge of staying on top of customer needs. GoBeep’s innovation makes this seamless, where customers have a direct link to the services they buy. The pandemic has shown the resilience of all kinds of businesses, and GoBeep is helping breweries to be resilient by enabling them to keep their finger on the pulse of their customers,” said Bob Quinn, SCRA Executive Director. “We’re excited to see them expand their platform capability to wineries, distilleries, restaurants, and retailers.”

GoBeep launched their software platform for retail and hospitality, focusing first on U.S. craft breweries. With a global focus on data privacy, consumers appreciate a simple and safe way to share and revoke their personal information. Businesses value ethical access to customer data to help them lower their cost of sale and increase lifetime customer spending. The platform is a win for customers and businesses alike.
