Fuyao Glass America Inc., venture of Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co. Ltd. (Fuyao Group) of China, has announced that it will be expanding its operations at its location in Fountain Inn. This $34.5 million investment will create over 100 new jobs. In addition, it includes additional assembly operations that will install parts in auto glass, including sensors, antennas and more.
“We are excited about this expansion in the Upstate,” said Zuogui Xie, president of Fuyao Glass America Inc. “Most of all, we are looking forward to being able to strengthen our relationship with our customers and meet the growing demand for our products.”
Fuyao Group produces and supplies automotive glass for original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket suppliers. It is one of the largest producers of automotive glass globally, and holds over 1,000 patents and manufactures 4 million glass car sets in the United States each year.
Fuyao North America announced in January 2019 that it would establish a new, 182,000 square-foot processing center with light-production capabilities at its Fountain Inn location. This $16.1 million initial investment was projected to create 70 new jobs.

The expansion has an expected completion date of March 2023.
