Daniel Fowler joins professional recruiting firm Forge Search as recruiter
Daniel Fowler has joined Greenville-based Forge Search + Consulting as a recruiter after a four-year stint with Furman University as men’s basketball Director of Recruiting and Special Assistant to the head basketball coach. Fowler was a student athlete at Furman University where he had a storied career on the Furman men’s basketball team as a starting small forward, setting records in games started, assists, and steals, acting as a Team Captain for his final two years, and helping lead the team to the 2017 Southern Conference championship. Forge Search is a rapidly-growing professional recruiting firm that primarily recruits within the fields of accounting & finance, marketing & sales, and HR and operations.
“We are thrilled to have Daniel with us on the Forge team,” said Rhiannon Poore, CEO and founder of Forge Search. “Forge is a people-first recruiting firm, so when we hire, we focus first on the values that allow us to serve and connect with people. Daniel brings a background in athletic recruiting, building and leading teams, and program development through his work with Furman’s athletic program. Throughout his college experience and within the rigorous schedule of a career in college athletics, Daniel focused on relationships, communication, and team leadership and those attributes will serve him very well in our work at Forge.”
“One of my favorite aspects of offense in basketball was playmaking and creating for others,” said Daniel Fowler. “I loved setting up other people and creating opportunities for others. In my work in the athletic department, one of the most enjoyable parts of the job was working the kids’ camp every summer. It was one of the best times of the year – being able to lead, guide, and inspire kids in the community and teach life skills through the game of basketball. Recruiting brings those two interests together into one job. I know what it’s like to feel uncertain and a desire to change — it’s a vulnerable place — and I want to be able to help people who want a change and are searching and just need a little guidance and some connections. Great recruiting brings the right people together — the candidate and the employer — in the perfect fit, and makes both better as a result.”
Fowler is a 2018 graduate from Furman University with a BA in communication and media studies. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Valiant Player, and the Furman Men’s Basketball Camp.
