Close to 300 pray in Greenville for peace

Close to 300 members of the Greenville area Jewish community and their friends gathered Tuesday for a prayer light vigil.

The Stand with Israel event at the Rupert Huse Veteran Center was held to show solidarity with Israel and to pray to end the recent terrorist attacks and violence.

Welcomed by Courtney Tessler of The Greenville Jewish Federation and with words and songs from Israeli resident Miki Karni, Rabbi Leibel Kessleman of Chabad of Greenville and the Upstate, Rabbi Sharon Cohen of Congregation Beth Israel and Rabbi Sam Rose of Temple of Israel, the gathered crowd lit candles and sang Oseh Shalom, a Jewish prayer of piece.
