CONVERSE, SC, August 10, 2021 – Jerome Kirkland, Site Manager for BASF’s Converse manufacturing facility in Spartanburg County, has been named to the Upstate Workforce Investment Board.

He has served as the Converse site manager since October 2019, and before that worked as a plant manager at the BASF site in Lincoln Park, Michigan. Before BASF, Jerome worked in various roles in manufacturing over the past 20 years. He is a 2021 graduate of Leadership Spartanburg.

“The health and vibrancy of the Upstate starts with developing a workforce that is capable and robust,” Kirkland said. “The Upstate Workforce Investment Board does that, and I am excited to be a part of it.”
