BASF’s Elba Lizardi named to Power 100 List of Women Leaders by Diversity Women Media

SENECA, SC, December 5, 2022 –Elba Lizardi, Site Director for BASF in Seneca, has recently been named to Diversity Woman Media’s Power 100 List of Women Leaders for her outstanding contributions to business. The Power 100 List highlights “the brightest rising stars across all races, cultures and identities” and “women leaders throughout the country who are powering forward on the fast-track in their careers.”

Lizardi grew up in Puerto Rico before attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and earning her MBA from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an Executive Certificate in Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Management, Intercultural/Multicultural and Diversity Studies.

She joined BASF in 2020 and was named Site Director at BASF’s Seneca facility in August 2020. Lizardi has more than 25 years of manufacturing experience and an extensive knowledge of precious metal technologies including refining, chemical product manufacturing, new product introduction, catalytic converter manufacturing, precious metal analytics and metal control security.


Lizardi is currently making notable progress toward BASF’s goal of 30% female leadership at the company by 2030. She advocated for the launch of BASF’s North American Apprenticeship Development Program at the site in Seneca, which is focused on increasing diversity at the company and is currently training is third cohort of apprentices. She also supports the Women in BASF employee resource group, which provides support, education and networking opportunities for women at BASF.
