BASF’s site in Converse is giving back to the community this holiday season through community volunteering and donations to key local non-profit organizations. Team members recently participated in Breakfast with Santa at the Woodson Community Center, where they served breakfast for children in the community, helped them create and decorate holiday ornaments, and made hot chocolate for the youngsters to drink with Santa Claus. This is the second year in a row that BASF has volunteered at this event.
BASF’s site in Converse also donated $2,500 to the Chapman Cultural Center to support its community activities. Each year, BASF sponsors the organization’s International Kite Festival, which features 10 local performers, 22 local craftsmen and women, 10 community organizations and serves more than 5,700 people from seven states. BASF also supports their Arts and Science STEM program, which reaches more than 45,000 students and 140 teachers, along with 47 Title I schools.
Earlier in the holiday season, BASF’s site in Converse donated 20 boxes of food to the United Way of Piedmont, which supports Spartanburg, Cherokee and Union Counties—enough to feed 20 families. This year is the second in a row that BASF in Converse has donated food to the United Way for families in need over the Thanksgiving holiday.
