Graycliff Capital Partners’ CFO Caitlin Steelman named Senior Financial Executive of the Year by Ups

Caitlin Steelman, Chief Financial Officer of Graycliff Capital Partners, LLC (Graycliff Capital), was recognized as 2021 Senior Financial Executive of the Year by the Upstate CFO Council. Based in downtown Greenville, Graycliff Capital is a leading developer/owner in the multi-family sector.

One of three award recipients, Steelman was singled out as Senior Financial Executive of the Year in the Small Business category. The honorees were chosen based on their dedication, diligence, and commitment to excellence. In presenting the awards, Robert Bendetti, founder of the Upstate CFO Council, quoted Aristotle by stating that “We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit.”

This recognition by the Upstate CFO Council and awards sponsor Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) represents Steelman’s second professional honor in less than two years. In the fall of 2020, Steelman named to GSA Business Report’s inaugural Upstate Class of Forty under 40.

Steelman, who has been with Graycliff Capital for seven years, was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2016 after serving as the firm’s Controller for a year. Today she oversees a portfolio of 28 properties with over 6,450 units. From start to finish, the performance of the assets she has overseen has averaged a 2.3x and 27 percent Internal Rate of Return (IRR).

Steelman graduated magna cum laude from Clemson University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and earned her Master of Accountancy (Taxation) from Clemson in 2007.
